You will use your Noteboard during a caucus session in the same way as during a plenary session, but ADR Notable has a few special built-in tools just for caucus notes...
What is a Caucus Note?
A caucus note is a note taken during a caucus session and differs from a general note in that (1) the text is blurred and (2) there is an indicator in the upper right corner of the Notecard. These serve two purposes: first, they remind you that the Note is not to be shared unless and until permission is given, and it prevents confidential information from being accidentally viewed on your screen. When you hover over the text with your cursor, the text will unblur.
How do I work with Caucus Notes?
1. Start the caucus timer: When you open your Noteboard, select the arrow in the caucus timer box in the upper right corner and then select the start button for the appropriate party. Whenever a caucus timer is running, all the notes you take will be caucus notes by default, with both blurred text and a caucus note indicator on the Note Card.
2. You can also create a caucus note outside of a caucus session. Either select the caucus note indicator when you are creating the note...
... OR select Caucus Note from the Notecard menu after the note is on your Noteboard...
3. You can hide all caucus notes from your Noteboard by de-selecting the Caucus Notes check box in the View Options menu of your Noteboard. (Any caucus notes that you have linked to ordinary notes will remain visible, but blurred.)
4. Don't want the Notes blurred? Perhaps you are doing a remote mediation and don't need to worry about privacy or the participant has given a blanket permission to share what you have heard in that session. You can un-blur the notes by clicking on Blur Note in the Notecard menu:
