Once you have set up a new case, you will manage it in the Case Dashboard. To access the Case Dashboard, simply click on the name of any case from the list on the main Dashboard or the Cases tab in your Profile. This article will describe (1) the functionality associated with each of the Dashboard tabs, and (2) how to set the status of a case and create a Case Summary Report.
Case Dashboard: Tabs
On the Case Dashboard, you will see a set of seven tabs across the top. The information you entered when you set up the case can be seen on the Case Summary tab. To make additions or changes to this information, click the Edit button, change what is needed, and save it using the Save button at the bottom of the screen.
The Security tab is where you can manage the permissions for all case users. You can assign a user's role and toggle the boxes to determine the level of access each user will have to the case notes and documents. In this example, we are adding Miles Rogers as a Case Manager, and giving him access to view the notes, but not to create, edit, or delete them.

Case Dashboard: Set Status and Create Case Summary Report
- Status: To set the status of a case in the Case Dashboard, click on the down arrow in the Case Title line and select the appropriate status. You can sort your cases by "Status" in My Cases, accessible on the main Dashboard and on the Cases tab in your Profile.
- Case Summary Report: To generate a Case Summary report, click on Download Case Report on the Case Summary tab.
The report will automatically download as a Microsoft Word file. The Case Summary Report includes only the basic information about the case:
- Case name, ID, case number, and type
- Name of the mediator(s) and all participants
- The session date, type (plenary or caucus), amount of time spent, and participant(s) for each session
- The outcome of the case
- The contents of the Case Summary Notes field from the Case Summary screen. Read more about Case Summary Notes in Creating a new case.
To protect the privacy of the proceedings, the notes and comments from your session Noteboard will not be included. Generating this report as a Word file, however, provides you with the flexibility to add as much or as little additional information as you would like.
